This episode serves as an introduction to both Season 1's game and setting, as well as the show itself.

After going around and introducing the cast, the show's goals are discussed. These include:

• An exploration of how mechanics inform character and what is possible in a story
• Experimental decisions within the actual play medium
• Celebration of games by indie designers
• Use of games that don't have many actual plays yet
• Collaboration with multiple gms

After talking about the show as a whole, focus shifts to the system being used for Season 1, We Used to be Friends by Johnathan Lavallee. The cast goes over the premise of the game as well as which rules they are particularly excited about. This leads into an introduction to all of the player characters as well as the cast building the town the season takes place in.
